From the very first time that I saw the teaser for this Cinemalya 2011’s entry, Ang Babae sa Septic Tank, me and my thesismates were really determined to watch it. My reason: all because of Kean Cipriano. ♥ But when it became a big winner in the said competition, I became more intrigued. Luckily, it was shown on theaters nationwide, thanks to Star Cinema.
I watched the movie with my mom and napapa-smile ako when the words “Sequence number.. Interior.. Day.. Establishing shot” were being said, makakarelate talaga ang ABCOMM student like me. Just like what I read in one of the reviews, I quote:
Natuwa ako. Not only because it was a well crafted film but I saw myself in Ranier and Bongbong, the young director and producer respectively, who wanted to make the ultimate poverty porn movie that will rocket its way to the Oscars. Both of us were feeling artistic and feeling auteur. We thought we knew everything but we knew nothing. – http://forkyeahmanila.tumblr.com/post/8554292571
^ Very well said. itong ito ang feeling ko while watching.
Because of this, I miss the “Sekend” days, where I became a part of a film production. Nasabi ko na lang sa sarili ko, this is the job I want. really want.
Isa lang masasabi ko sa indie film na ‘to, LUPET!
Marlon Rivera, I salute you!
